Karen is a passionate advocate for promoting children and young people’s rights and agency, and empowering meaningful change to create spaces where children and young people are protected, respected and enabled to thrive.
Expertise
Karen is an experienced child rights and safety specialist, with over 10 years’ experience in safeguarding and child protection, with senior safeguarding leadership roles in the UK.
She brings strong expertise in developing risk assessments, and implementing strategies, policies, and processes that strengthen protections for children and young people.
Karen is skilled in driving organisational change through cultural shifts, building safeguarding capacity, and collaborating with influential stakeholders. She is passionate about creating opportunities to enable safe and meaningful participation for children and young people, and advocating for their voices to be heard in decision making.
Karen brings operational experience gained as a front-line child protection social worker in London, grounding her practice in both lived realities and systemic change.
