Safeguarding workshops for families

Target audience: Families, parents, carers & guardians
How can we provide families with the tools to assess safe organisations?
We know that safety is the number one priority for families, but do parents, guardians, carers and families know what to look for in an organisation? Do they feel empowered to ask questions that test an organisation’s culture? What questions should be asked? What red flags can be identified?
What will we learn?
This engaging workshop is designed for parents, carers and guardians. We will discuss the requirements of organisations to apply the child safe standards/national principles and the key indicators to look for when testing an organisation’s child safety culture. We will consider case studies to help equip families with the knowledge, tools and confidence to carefully select safer services.

National Principles/Child Safe Standards addressed: 3, 5, 6, 7, 10 (Victorian Child Safe Standards 4, 6, 7, 8, 11)
